Mirror mirror on the ….tree…. I had ideas swirling around in my head of some sort of photoshoot involving a mirror, pretty much all summer during 2020! I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do, photographers have used mirrors in artsy ways at shoots for a long long time. I was not trying to re-invent the wheel here, but I also didn’t want to come across as too trendy. I figured, when the mirror eventually presented itself to me, the ideas would soon follow. After several trips to Antiques USA, a gorgeous, antique mirror rose from the clutter, surrounded by a beam of light, while angels sang ‘ahhhhh’ in the background. Okay, thats a bit dramatic, but to me, thats how it felt. I had my mirror! Finally! And I had been saving a special little photoshoot spot for months, just waiting for the perfect concept. I wrangled my professional hair and makeup artist friend Audrey, and her boyfriend Jake, and into the woods of Saco, Maine we went. This unique concept for a couples photoshoot gave my Instagram followers major “Twilight” vibes, and I have to agree. Audrey and Jake make a stunning Belle and Edward. As the September sun dipped, and the mosquitoes emerged I said “how would you feel about being totally nude”. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I’m lucky to have friends that put up with me. At least the photos were worth it!
