As we are all painfully aware, 2020 was kind of a bust. As a (former) wedding photographer, my calendar for the year was pretty much wiped clean. As much as we all wanted to do lots of productive things with our spare time, the truth is we were all “going through it” in some way. One of my panny symptoms was a lack of motivation. I desperately wanted to get out and shoot, but after a pretty lame-ass summer, I felt like my inspiration had shriveled up and died. Until, I was aimlessly scrolling IG, and noticed that there was a beautiful gown for rent, and there were only four available dates. I quickly sent a message, securing the rental, and began dreaming up a concept. I won’t get into all of the details, but call it destiny, call it divine timing, call it whatever you want, but when that package showed up on my doorstep surprisingly early, I knew I needed to shoot THAT NIGHT! I quickly threw together a headpiece that I had been planning to make later that week, rushed to Target for undergarments, and sped off to the beach right as the sun began to set. I’m not even being dramatic here, this photoshoot changed my life. As I was snapping photos I yelled “I want to do this every day!!!”. I felt so full of joy and inspiration, I felt a calling, a feeling I knew I didn’t quite feel while shooting weddings. After I made the first post to IG, it quickly became my most liked post ever, and from this experience the “Goddess Session” was born, and the trajectory of my life, and my business was forever changed!
